Rhode Island photographer David Zapatka is a volunteer ambassador and lighthouse still photographer for the non-profit United States Lighthouse Society’s USA Stars & Lights Project.
He is a 40-year veteran freelance national network television cameraman for news and sports programs. His work has won eight Emmy awards, and he was recently inducted into the NATAS Silver Circle for Outstanding Broadcast achievement for 25-plus years in the New England region.
David began his lighthouse night photography project in 2013, and he has enjoyed 13 solo gallery shows throughout the Northeast since first displaying the images publicly in 2015. He appeared on the Today Show in July 2022 and subsequently sold out of his two published books.
