About this speaker
Harold Ross’ 40-year photography career started with a concentration in fine art, with a degree from Maryland Institute College of Art. For over 30 of those years he owned a studio producing images for advertising, during which time he practiced and perfected the use of light painting as his sole method of lighting.
Strongly believing in the transformative nature of light, Harold’s goal is to reveal aspects of his subjects that aren’t normally apparent under normal lighting conditions. His subjects include small still lifes, larger interiors and landscapes.
Harold has codified his methods into easily understood concepts which he teaches in his workshops. His large-scale color work has been exhibited, collected and published in the U.S. and internationally.
Harold lives in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, with his wife Vera.
